George Robert Crotch (1842-1874) was born at Bishop's Hull, Somerset. He matriculated at St John's College, Cambridge, in 1861 (B.A., 1864; M.A., 1867), and became an assistant at the University Library in 1866, and second assistant librarian, 1867-1871. He worked as an assistant at the Cambridge Museum of Comparative Zoology, before emigrating to the United States. Crotch compiled a Catalogue of British coleoptera . The Reverend Joseph Woodfall, M.A. was born in 1824; graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge in 1864, and was ordained in the same year; in 1871 he became the vicar of Molash, Kent; collected and edited English ballads and poetry; publications include The Roxburghe ballads (editor, 1869), and the Westminster drolleries of 1671 and 1672 (editor, 1875); he died in 1908.
